In terms of price / quality, they outperform Intel, but Dedik, so only Intel ... Maybe there are pitfalls?

Intel's win in multithreading due to hyperthreading. You can perfectly overseal virtual machines and so on... I speak from personal experience ;)
But for mining primecoins amd is better - I speak from personal experience ;)
It all depends on the needs and requirements.

They don't win anything, at one time the cheapest i7 920 models were completely made by AMD at the same price, and most hosters had them in dedics.

i7 920 costs 3000r more than Phenom II x6 1055T
i7 920 cost about 9000r (8 cores in hyperthreading)
1055T cost about 6000r (6 cores)
