Why are file operations through Caja taking too long to cancel?

Linux MINT 18.2, MATE.
Actually, the whole problem is indicated in the title.
Canceling, for example, the transfer of a large amount of data to a USB flash drive, takes a huge amount of time. For example, today I uploaded 20 files (11.5 GB in total), and canceled the operation; waited more than an hour, and the file transfer window did not disappear anywhere. I had to reboot.

Can you please tell me what could be the problem, or is it just not worth using Caja for this task?

All because of the principle of working with the file system. With such large volumes, it is better to use mc or any other file manager)
