Which university to choose and is it worth it?

I am in 11th grade and going to college. I decided a long time ago that I want to be a programmer. Even for some time before preparing for the exam, I was fond of the web. Everything is tight with USE scores, but I want to get into an institute with good education. Therefore, the idea came up to take an educational loan and go to paid education at the tower for software engineering, I read everything about the direction. I really liked it. The loan will have to be repaid three months after graduation by myself. There is also a chance to get on the budget in the course of training. Do you think it's worth it? Maybe choose another university? Or someone can study at the tower will give feedback. Please advise if I am doing the right thing. Thanks in advance)

I advise zaochku, he went through it and do not regret it. Mathematics is very important in programming, it changes thinking, pumps the brain, allows you to solve some problems more beautifully. Without a university, most programmers do not pay attention to mathematics and algorithms, which are necessary at least for a successful interview, and in general, they allow you to write more optimized code, because. understand how things work from the inside.
At the correspondence course, you will be given methodological material, a basic consideration of the topic being studied, and they will also tell you what questions will be on the exam. So there will be at least some kind of motivation to learn those things that at first glance will not be useful in the profession (plus topics not in the profession - psychology, culture of speech). Also a plus will be consultation with professors on the topic, checking papers, and most importantly, writing and defending a diploma. It is better to treat the diploma responsibly, and choose an interesting and complex topic for yourself.
Of course, you can download the curriculum of any university and follow its program. If you have that much patience, then try.
I don’t advise a point (unless it’s some kind of advanced university with recruiters standing at the door), because. spend a lot of time without gaining real experience.
An apprenticeship + job is a great option, after graduation you will already have work experience and education.

I have very rarely come across good developers who have a specialized tower. There are 5 such people among my acquaintances in the whole experience

ITMO is not bad. Isn't it easier to do where you can and money for courses (including free and online). Then you can find yourself

I wouldn't take out a loan (unless it's us). Better study English (even mathematics, physics) for a year or two and go to Inopolis. Or a university place to gain experience in programming!!!

In general, my clarification Ivan Shumov was for the sake of emphasizing the importance of education or the absence of onnoy.
I started (attention!) “reading about” php js and py relatively recently, and I can say with confidence that my knowledge of English came in handy.
ps the university was not specialized.
