Which store to choose for mailboxes in the postfix-dovecot-roundcube bundle?

There is a legacy mdaemon mail server. In order to legalize the software, I want to transfer it to the postfix+dovecot+rouncube bundle. Rested on the choice of storage for mailboxes. Advise what to choose.
