Which SSD to choose for a laptop?
Bought Asus N56VB. But it has a slow 1TB hdd (5400 RPM). I want to replace it with a fast SSD (128GB). Please suggest some good one.
And how to transfer the operating system to a new disk? There is a licensed 8 on hdd, I don’t want to buy another one for ssd.
I also don't want to throw away a terabyte disk. Is it possible to install it, for example, instead of an optical drive?

1) it is better to take ssd at 256. Firstly, it will be one and a half times faster, secondly, 128GB is still not enough to feel at ease without thinking too much about the place, and thirdly, the difference in price is not 2 times.
2) A good balance of the whole plextor m5p, the crucial m4 (the one that is 7mm) is cheaper, the intel 520 is more reliable. But in general, about the same thing. If there is a lot of money, you can samsung 840 pro.
3) You can put a terabyte instead of a drive, but you will need to buy an appropriate basket, in special. stores are easy to google.
Replacing the internal hdd with ssd is easy - unscrew and screw.
The OS can be ported in a variety of ways. For example, Acronis True Image or the free CloneZilla . Any software that can transfer data in partitions or entire disks. Usually, these softwares even correctly take into account the free space on the new disk.

If this laptop model has an mSata connector, then of course it’s better to buy a small mSata SSD and not rearrange the HDD in place of the DVD. I didn’t find something on mSata in this nuot. Maybe someone knows?
From the SSD, I can recommend the Intel 520 series: for example, 180GB or 240GB . Typically, Intel SSDs are slightly more expensive than other manufacturers' SSDs, but are considered more reliable. The 520 series has one feature - hardware encryption, while the 300 series does not.
Together with the purchase of a laptop, I took myself a Corsair gt forse 60Gb for the OS. 1 year, normal flight.
