Which protocol to choose for sending geodata to the server frequently?

I'm going to create a maximum realtime service that will receive data about the user's geolocation somewhere every second. According to what protocol is it better to do this, I'm thinking about udp, but won't it be from a cannon on sparrows?

@amambaru

Every second is not a load.
If you need true realtime, then there are special protocols like https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/Real-time_Transport_...
But, IMHO, you don't need this.
Suitable for both UDP and TCP.
