Which program to choose for backing up data from a server to a PC?
At the moment, backups are being made using a self-made program that archives data at a certain point in time for weeks and saves it as a *.rar archive. Tell me if there are analogues of this program? It would be desirable to hear skilled sys. administrators how they back up data.

Well, not a server. put cobian backup on one and a half dozen working computers.
plus: backup through shadow copy, i.e. makes a slice of the file system and archives from it, and it doesn’t matter if the file is open for writing, locked or whatever. presses in 7zip.
2nd plus: sends the archive via FTP, login, password in the config are encrypted, not a single nasty thing that starts up on the computer will be able to break the archives in the storage.
Check out this program:

If there is money, it is better to buy, for example, acronis backup advanced.
Normal interface, flexible settings.
symantec backup exec
The interface has improved a lot, it used to be UG especially 2010 version.
You can look towards veeam backup
They correctly said about Rsync, use windows tools and you will be happy.
If you want (not necessary, namely you want) then try BareOS , or its predecessor Bacula .
Again, there is no specifics on how many PCs, where backups are stored, how they are planned to be checked after creation.
Cobian Backup is very good, it's a pity it hasn't been updated for a long time. Resilio Sync helps in places
