Which paid antivirus to choose for a weak computer?

Help me choose a paid antivirus for a weak computer (Celeron 2.8, 768 RAM, Windows XP S3 is not licensed).
Now it is Ubuntu 10.10, and it works very cool and stable. But there is a need for the Medok Windows accounting program, which did not start in my ubuntu. This means that you need to install Windows for which I want to purchase an antivirus subscription.

So you need to install Windows

No, it doesn't.
You can install a virtual machine in Ubuntu, such as Virtual Box - free and available in the Ubuntu distribution, and run the programs you need.
For example, I work with two monitors when I need to (I test mostly IE browsers), on one full screen Win, on the other Ubuntu. Very comfortably.

I once used dr.web on a similar configuration, it worked fine (unfortunately, I don’t know what they have now).
I’ll add that, judging by Windows, you don’t feel much urge to purchase products - therefore, I advise you to look at beta.drweb.com for yourself a completely legal way to use a fully licensed product for free (I won’t say anything about the ethical issue of using beta keys - here your right to participate in tracking or No)

I have not used antiviruses for several years, so I don’t know how things are now. But as far as I can remember, Dr.Web has always been a good antivirus, without any special bells and whistles in the interface and always working perfectly.
But in my opinion it all depends on how the scanner is configured. Disable archive scanning, or set the maximum size of the archive that the antivirus will unpack. Set up "real-time protection" as you wish. Disable unnecessary features and you will be happy with any of the antiviruses

Try to install Medok on Ubuntu via CrossOver XI Linux , there is a trial for the test.

try antivirguard.
For tasks, the free version is enough,
see here
. Not demanding on resources and without annoying requests. (There is even a version for ubuntu).
And so - if you dig using winetricks - you can completely make it work without installing windows.

Not in a subject of a question: And how honey on such configuration works for you? I have a better interface, then the interface is stupid.

From personal experience: drweb, avast deliver the least inconvenience with a weak processor and lack of memory.
