I'm looking for a plugin and information on redirecting deleted products.
The store has the Yoast SEO Premium 10.0.1 plugin installed , this plugin has a redirect system, when you delete a product, a panel opens where you choose where to redirect.
But for some reason this system does not work in this version.
I found a plugin that redirects all 404 errors to the main page. This is a good decision?
I heard that deleted products should be returned to the bot by code 410, but I didn’t find such a plugin, can anyone know the name?

In general, it is best to redirect the removed product to the category in which this product was located. this will solve the user's problem to the greatest extent and the bounce rate will be less than in the case of redirecting to the main one (you need to make a number of clicks to "find" why you came, or 404 - this is understandable). In addition, the static weight will also come in handy for your category.
In general - lyrics, but I noticed a number of quite successful stores when the goods were not physically removed (with the exception of very old models, but only displayed "out of stock"). This will save both places in the search results for low frequencies and traffic.
