Good afternoon. We have our own news aggregator . The topic is more in the direction of geek news, but there is also business and scientific news.
How are such projects usually promoted? How to increase project traffic? (now about 50 uniques a day)
My ideas :

1. Add the ability for the search robot to index each news with a link to the news's internal page, which will already contain a link to the source. (now all news leads not to the internal page, but directly to the news website)

Integrate into social networks, for beginners of USEFUL projects there, in theory, the simplest promotion in the sense of word of mouth. Those. it should be as simple as possible for the user to share a post on a social network in 1 click (so that the title and a link to the full text go there) and there should be the possibility of a simple repost.
Let your aggregator be not the only project, but as a neighbor to another, i.e. issue dies of articles in the side places on the current topic.
I'm afraid the niche is competitive, why did you choose this one? Ask yourself why would anyone want to go to your site in the first place? You are an aggregator, which means you do not generate news yourself, which means that from Google they will come to the original source and not to you. RSS is dead (killed it, literally), which means it's unlikely to have visits from rss readers (but try it anyway and add a feed).

First and foremost: give users added value. What will they get by going to your site? List of news from other sites? There is nothing valuable in this, they can see it by going to the specific site from which you took the information.
2. Gather semantics, at least roughly, what people are looking for with the word "news", make thematic tags on the site, news collections on topics optimized for search demand. The promotion of any project must begin with an analysis of demand and building a site structure depending on this demand.
3. Analyze competitors, see which keywords most often visit their sites, due to which they have good optimization.
