Which network drive to choose?

Help me choose a network storage that will be connected by cable to the router and will distribute content via Wi-Fi.
I'm not very good at terminology and don't fully understand the difference between a NAS and a network drive. For example, I picked up two options: Netgear RND2000-200EUS (without disk) and Western Digital My Cloud 3TB (with disk).
Both models have a USB 3.0 interface. Does this mean that I can connect this drive to my computer via a USB to USB cable and quickly transfer my entire collection of movies and music to a network drive? Or USB 3.0 is here only for the possibility of connecting external media, and not for transferring data to the network; and then you have to transfer data via Ethernet 100 Mbps (the router does not support it anymore). Or is it better to purchase an even more advanced router that can transfer data through at speeds up to 1000 Mbps?
Tell me which is better to choose. Maybe there are other options? The main requirements: the ability to quickly transfer information to a network drive.

NAS is a minicomputer. It can store files, download torrents, and transfer media content (for example, to a TV). You can host your website or make your own mail server. And you can do all this at the same time and much more.
A network drive is simply a drive that connects via Ethernet.
It will be possible to copy to WD via both Ethernet and USB3.
NAS I recommend Synology, Netgear so-so...
