Hello everyone, I have a question.
You need to find a suitable messenger for the monitoring alarm, the monitoring will be self-written in Java (you can not write about using Zabbix, Munin and other things)
So there is a task to choose something from the messengers for the alarm, for example ICQ, Jaber, Skype, what do you advise? who faced? where would it be easier to implement?

I would like to hear about monitoring on Munin, it's even interesting. Munin is able to do alerting without additional funds?
I did alerting from Java using JSend-NSCA , and then NAGIOS sent out what was needed where needed.
Everything was done in thirty or forty minutes of work.

At one time I did this on jabber - it is great for notification and even for control (almost). For many jabber servers, there are a bunch of plug-ins that broadcast messages to other systems, for example, sending SMS via IP telephony or a message to Skype.
