Which linux to choose on pentium 4 for youtube?

Hello! Need help choosing a lightweight distribution.
Why: The main thing is comfortable watching videos on YouTube (at least in 360p), social networks, office, work with a printer and scanner, relative ease of use.
System: Motherboard ASUS (can't remember which one), Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.40GHz, DIMM DRAM 1Gb+256Mb 64 bits, AMD/ATI Radeon 9550 (256), HDD 80GB, Linux Mint 17.1 (mate 32 -bit). Everything works satisfactorily, except for youtube (I launch via SMT with a VLC player, but there are also brakes).
Thanks in advance!

Updated the kernel to 3.19.0-32
Started digging towards the video card driver, demolished Open and tried to install Proprietary. Got an error:
"Error: ./default_policy.sh does not support version
default:v2:i686:lib::none:3.19.0-32-generic; make sure that the version is being
correctly set by --iscurrentdistro
Removing temporary directory: fglrx- install.D7GlyS"
As you understand, you need to return the open one?

1) instead of vlc, use mpv (easier)
further, for example, you can use a bunch:
mpv + youtube-dl + mozplugger and mpv-youtube-dl-binding plugins
2) use the greasemonkey plugin + ViewTube
script 3) Are there drivers for the video card?
what the command shows
in general is to install the driver (free / proprietary) and to install the necessary libraries for hardware video decoding, for Arch see here

@oren

I don't think it's the OS.
how much percent is loaded. while watching?
have you tried different browsers?
try a "light" browser https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_ligh...

What is the driver for the video card? Maybe he's the problem?

I have Arch + lxde + proprietary firewood on 4 stumps, it plays videos from YouTube and plays music normally, but I installed a clean system and rolled everything else quietly ...
But you can try lubuntu, in theory, it should pull
