Which linux is the fastest?
Greetings!
Advise OS Linux light, practically not eating anything (cp \ RAM \ Voz, compared to windows 8.1 \ 10).
You need OS exclusively x64 bits, for a tablet laptop [ Asus transformer T100T \ T100TA (letter A = docking station, as I understand it)], which will be configured exclusively for a stationary PC for surfing the Internet, or movies / browser games.
And the second point of need: Ya.Browser should get up, it is currently exclusively for x64 systems, in deb and rpm formats.

It's hard with desktops. It always seemed to me that Mint is the easiest in this regard from suitable conditions.
The GUI eats the most, so you need to look for the lightest DE. The lightest of the relatively common and working ones is LXDE.
It makes no sense to choose a light DE if the browser will gobble up all the resources anyway and start to slow down after the first tab.
Even if you install bare Debian with the launch of Allegedly.Browser instead of DE, brakes are inevitable.
JustForFun, of course, you can try Chromoos. There is really nothing to loose.
And why do you climb to install Linux to the left person, if you yourself do not understand it? Even if you find some distribution kit that will stand up and work fine, but what will you do when a person wants to connect a scanner / printer / 3G modem and it won’t start by itself? Moreover, this is still a tablet, and if you want to use it in this capacity under the control of minimalistic WM, then I'm afraid nothing good will come of this idea.
IMHO, return the axis that was there, configure what you can (here you know better, I haven’t worked with windows for a long time) and return it to the owner. If a person is not an idiot, then he understands that this chahlobuk, in principle, cannot work quickly, otherwise there is no point in wasting time on him.
compared to everything else, i.browser will eat noticeably more. the fastest in operation (but not in installation / maintenance) will be to compile everything as close as possible to the hardware. Total fit arch and genta.
opensuse .. in text mode! nowhere faster. the rest is all decently eating a battery and decently slows down on weak hardware. steeper wine xp has not yet been invented.
... and more ... win 10 now, with equal opportunities, easily makes Linux. and the Linuxes that work with the little RAM are no longer really left! and win the commercial axis and it is optimized for weak platforms!
runtu lite - somehow it was not so long ago, it behaved quite quickly on old equipment, only you need to cut a lot after installation.
Puppy. Or take any bare axis on which put only Hsy and a browser with a turn and autorun without DE.
Is it you yourself or someone else? Will you agree to endure noticeably less convenient (compared to win7 or win10) gui? Then LXDE / XFCE, and the distribution is not important here - these DEs will run on any. But with all my love for OSS and not much love for Windows (especially for win10) - M$ optimizes its graveyard for such pieces of iron so that they work. Linukh will work as in general terms and there is doubt that it will be possible to pick up something.
