Python wins in almost all respects: more promising, easier to learn, dozens of times more material in Russian.
R wins in that, in fact, it was originally created for statistical and financial computing, it is believed that there are more libraries on this subject.
Take a look at jobs for data analyst (or data scientist), and you will see for yourself that Python is required much more often than R.
Depends on the direction of growth R is a very narrow specialization and it is better tailored for this task. Having studied python, you will enter the development to some extent, you will be able to solve "related" tasks.
I am for python if there is a choice.
For a person unfamiliar with programming (and not a burning desire to learn it), one should not use R or Python, but tools where there is practically no such programming, and basic - and rather complex - data analysis actions can be performed. There are a lot of such tools - from the banal EXCEL, which will cover 80 percent of all your needs, to SPSS, from Rapid Miner to H2O. There are still a lot of specialized online services - but there you already need to look at your specialization - the concept of "analysis of financial data" is very broad and includes many subdomains, each of which has its own services.
It's easier than Python, but it's still desirable to have a mathematical base for analysis + statistics.
Many models and methods of analysis require a minimal understanding of the topic.
