Is it worth it to take courses at the training center "School of Programming"?

Good day.
Relatively recently, I began to study programming on my own, but since there is very little experience in this matter, in parallel with the language itself (Ruby), I also studied simple algorithmization, solved various problems, watched screencasts, etc. And so the question arose: is it not better, instead of a long and painstaking independent study of all the basics of this business, to enroll in online courses, albeit paid ones, but with a higher efficiency, in order to save a lot of time (but not money).
So, are there people here who have taken such courses, in particular in the very popular organization "Programming School" ( proglive.ru )? I would like to know exactly about her, because. I have not yet found other correct options (where they will not be divorced for grandmas).
Is it worth signing up for them at all, and what recommendations can you give on training in general?

I am a person who did not take these courses, but mastered 5 years of university in IT specialty. I can say the following - learning to program usually comes down to learning the standard library of a language or some framework. It happens like this: a demo task is set, for example, to make a posting form on a toaster, and the language / framework tools that need to be done are considered. And so on and so forth...
Personally, I think that the main task of a programmer is not to stupidly write some kind of code (I created a form, processed it and sent it to the database ... I even have a generator for this somewhere, heh). The main task of a programmer and its value for the employer (customer) is the ability to create/adapt algorithms. But no course will teach you this. I was taught the base for 5 years at the university, then I improve this base on real projects. Somewhere it turns out better, somewhere worse ...
What is needed in order to create good algorithms - I think non-standard thinking. But no one will change your way of thinking, only you yourself are capable of this, and there is usually no algorithm for this. NEED TO THINK!!!
PS: I did not take school courses))

This is a link to the courses of this (educational institution) nnm-club.me/?q=%F8%EA%EE%EB%E0+%EF%F0%EE%E3%F0%E0%...
Personally, I would have looked first these courses and assessed the availability of submission and the relevance of training information for himself personally, and after that he made a decision to pay or not to pay.

There is nothing better - "a long and painstaking independent study of all the basics."
There is nothing in the course that you cannot learn on your own.
No matter how much I attended courses, no matter how much I bought video materials and books on different languages, once I studied them, I never returned to them. Moreover, with some sadness - he threw out books and deleted materials due to rapid obsolescence.
Knowledge is given - documentation, source codes and a network, less often colleagues will prompt something.
After practicing, you will understand everything yourself.
Specifically, these courses do not give the most important thing, an idea of how to build an application in ruby or rails. Where to start and how to finish.
And here some kind of step-by-step tutorial, such as Learning Rails with Examples , will be more useful.or the book Rails 4 Agile Web Application Development . Although in the listed materials the presentation of information is controversial and superficial.
But if you really want to - sign up.

The school of programming or geekbrains is complete bullshit. Namely, the contingent of teachers is, of course, nothing, but the setting of the educational process is strange: "you have to study yourself," they say in ShP. Why do I pay (and then fucking pay) money and for what? So, better citizens download lessons from the nnm club (nnm-club)? including this so-called programming school, and Google to help you reasonable people

They took a course in C ++ with a colleague, led by a guy with a very decent level (as far as I remember, he worked in Yandex). I liked the course very much, we pulled up our level well.
Of the minuses, for a long time they could not send documents to our accounting department.

In principle, live learning differs from reading books in that there is a teacher from whom you can ask what is not clear and get informal knowledge from him. If the teacher himself "floats" or has no real experience, then such courses are not needed.

I remember how the guys have developed, and of course they have seen significant growth lately. In any case, competition in the field of programming training will not hurt anyone, in addition to a specialist, alternatives are needed.
In general, download torrents, look, in general, I like their products.
