Which drives to choose for NAS?

There is a NAS Synology DS212j with two slots for 2-inch and 3-inch drives. It is planned to install two disks in RAID 1, each disk is in the region of 2-3 GB.
Which disk is better to take (meaning a pair)?
specific model?
Manufacturer?
Series?
Rotational speed?
Buffer?
What other features to consider?
For each answer, I would like to know - why?
I would be grateful for answers to one or more questions.
Thank you.

Do not take discs from the same batch to reduce the likelihood of simultaneous failure

It is best to install discs from the compatibility table.

I've been running a 411j with four Samsung HD204UIs for over a year now.
In general, the choice depends on what you want to get at the output. Low consumption, high speed, reliable.

3 inches, 5200 rpm (they heat up and eat less, the speed is still limited by the network), I have a 2 TB Hitachi DeskStar in DS111j that has been working for the last year.
And yes, UPS is highly desirable.

For your home? Yes, in principle, any will do :) I took a terabyte WD Green (7200, 8Mb), usually 3-4 clients at the same time (the main scenario is to write a torrent, and the rest read heavy media files). Completely satisfied with the speed.
