Which CMS/CMF to choose for an online store with wholesale options?
Good day!
Help me choose a free CMS/CMF for an online store.
The task as a whole is quite trivial, but there are nuances.
The requirements for an online store also include "wholesale" options:
1) Ability to prescribe discounts, depending on the quantity of goods. Discounts must be written in the product card, and automatically applied when specifying the quantity corresponding to these discounts, which should be reflected in the order form.
2) The possibility of user authorization, personal account, other prices of the "Wholesales" user group.
Based on the requirements, the options are:
1) OpenCart + HYPER LOYALTY or similar modules / write it yourself
2) MODX + (Office + msDiscount + *other modules) / write it yourself
3) Joomla + VirtueMart. As far as I understand, all the functionality is there.
4) Your option
Initially, we planned OpenCart, but then deducted that it would be more difficult to pull your design on it than on MODX or Joomla, in general, the system is largely cumbersome and the required functionality for wholesale prices out of the box is still not there. Wholesale functionality, judging by the reviews, is also easier to implement on MODX. Joomla is a controversial issue for many factors, but there is almost nothing to cut there

Use a tool made for a specific task. In your case, only opencart is made specifically for e-commerce - it's fast, cheap and straightforward. The rest are more like a Swiss knife - everything seems to be there, but everything is of medium or poor quality.
By opencart:
Is from the box
Is from the box
There are no problems with stretching the design. Enough basic knowledge of PHP and read the documentation, which many people miss.
On Modx and do it. The main thing is not to overdo it with additions, you will take a sip of grief.
On Modx and do it. The main thing is not to do it on Joomla, and even more so, not by the night the aforementioned Wirtmart, you will take a sip of grief.
In fact, you need one free Minishop2 plugin and only ONE paid plugin, I won’t say which one ...)))
Office, why?))) adored ...
Joomla + JoomShopping is preferable to Joomla + VirtueMart, because JS is much simpler, more convenient and more understandable than VM.
Do it on MODX unambiguously.
Put MODX + pdoTools + Minishop2 + msSalePrice (490 rubles).
The latter will just add wholesale prices to you.

MODX is a decent tool, but its viruses devour it somehow en masse. After each new epidemic, some client manages to be persuaded to move to October CMS. This is not an option for those who do not program in PHP, watch a couple of lessons and do it right away. But if you study a little longer, then you won’t be able to lure you back. Freedom of customization and in general to do everything that is necessary, and not what the CMS dictates, the speed of development (provided that you have already entered), the speed of your own development - there is nothing even to compare. We worked on MODX for 4 years before switching to October, so the comparison is very subjective.
