Which antivirus is the best, your personal experience?

In connection with the latest events in Ukraine - hacker attacks, I wanted to ask you, Windows users, what is the best antivirus to use? Or who, what antivirus is now.
I used to use ESET SMART Security, but after the keys began to fly off, I changed to the free Microsoft Security Essential. Now it's Windows 10 and Windows Defender antivirus is installed.

No.
Built-in tools in modern (do not forget to update regularly automatically) - enough for the eyes.
You are bringing the infection to yourself.
If you don't install anything for yourself, nothing will happen to your operating system.
And all sorts of experiments with software of unknown origin have been carried out for a million years inside virtual machines, and not in a living operating system.

No
router with the right settings, no browser ( not a donkey!) with the right set of plug-ins, a proxy with a set of filters - and most importantly - MOSK! For scanning, there is a free version of Malwarebytes, but it does not protect, because it is free, but only scan the file. Well, virustotal of course :)

Well, Microsoft's antivirus caught this Petya today. Stopped extortion type. However, the user's files still managed to be encrypted (all sorts of excel-doxels, pdfs, dbfks, rar-archives, and so on). Antivirus made better? I'm not sure, because he deleted the virus code in the boot record, by which it would be possible to decrypt the files. Other antiviruses at that time did not know about this virus (they did not detect it, according to the media), but I am sure that they will do the same "disservice" when the virus signature appears in the database.

Microsoft Security Essential is sufficient.
There are threats that it cannot cope with - for example, a ransomware, but no antivirus will help here, only a competent system setup.

The best antivirus - direct hands.
At home, only Comodo Firewall and the security tools built into Win10. Nothing else is needed.
