Which 1TB external HDD to choose?

Hello, after a recent Mac OS glitch, I decided to buy an external HDD for system backups.
~1TB in size. I would like to hear the opinion of experienced people about which disk is best suited for this. Would like Hitachi / WD / Seagate. It's hard to google something useful for models.

I look at tests for each model under consideration, using the example of such cheklab.ru/archives/4100, although not a detailed but general overview of the piece of iron will be

WD Elements 2TB 2.5" - 99 euros. I've been using it for a month, I'm happy.
Small, fast (under 100MB/s) and quiet.

Many praise WD, but I myself have been using TimeCapsule for 2TB for two years now. Very satisfied. If you have the opportunity to buy, take it without hesitation :)

1 Hitachi +1 WD covered in a year. On both controllers flew off.
Just yesterday, I barely raised another WD on which only the partition for backups fell off.
I can’t give any advice, but I advise you to backup if possible and the data is very important.

Off topic, but about backups. Try to backup in Google Docs or Dropbox.

From personal experience:
1. You can score against a company, marriage is everywhere, even in expensive "server" versions
2. Before the first backup, you need to "drive" the disk for a night or two on tests (Google to help)
3. Good "green" versions with reduced turnover. they get warmer in every way during writing / reading.
4. If possible, buy a 2TB disk and make backups one by one to different partitions. (yes, I'm paranoid, but you can also kill the data with a "crooked" backup)
5. Do not keep the disk with backups in the same place as the computer. At least in the next room on a shelf in a "bubble" package.
Sleep well.

When choosing, I advise you to pay attention to the fact that for the vast majority of external hdds (for 2.5 for sure) the usb controller is part of the disk itself and in certain cases it will be extremely problematic to connect the disk to the sata connector.

So far I have settled on two models:
WD My Book Essential, judging by the reviews, it works fine, 2TB, Caviar Blue inside, but too healthy. But plus, there is SATA.
WD Elements Desktop, according to reviews, not a very good assembly, some die quickly enough, 2TB, Scorpio Blue inside, compact, cute design. But there is no SATA, you won’t pull it out especially.
Seagate breaks down much more often than WD. Hitachi seems to have disappeared from the market altogether.
