Where to go as an electronics programmer?
I am graduating with a degree in Computer Science. I live in the outback. I faced the problem of finding myself in employment. What I can do or what I would like to develop: quadrocopters, development and programming of devices, robots, green technologies, process optimization. In my city, IT is at the level of installing Windows, and in freelancing, one WEB. I would like to ask you for advice: how to look for a job or how to develop from the above. I can't move yet.

I also have a degree in Computer Science.
I will support the previous commentator: if you can, move to the web to feed yourself, and work on iron in your free time, the main thing is not to lose your skills, so that later, when the opportunity comes up (and it will turn up if you want to) join an interesting project / start your own.
With iron in Russia is tight. Offers on the labor market compared to the web and desktop are simply minuscule. There are about 60 vacancies for the whole of Moscow against 600 for a .NET developer. Not every company has a flexible schedule, and the ability to work from home part of the days (when you do not need access to equipment) is a fantasy. In general, working conditions are quite conservative. If this does not bother you - look for an opportunity and move and you will feel fine.
I'm not interested in the web, I love when the thing I created can be felt, so I have no options - iron as the main activity. But I don't like the current conservatism in the region, so I'm going in the direction of my business or a share in the business.
The area is developing: 8 years ago I still found raging holivars on the topic "C or assembler". Now, with rare exceptions, the question of choice is not worth it.
Young progressive companies are still rare, but there will be more of them in the future. And the area will become more attractive.
You yourself rejected the obvious and correct answer - moving. The rest of the paths are many times less successful, and here it is worth considering whether to eke out a miserable existence or tear off your ass and plunge into this beautiful world
pattern recognition and neural networks.
buy an Arduino and practice robot building and hone algorithms.
and after problems with employment will definitely not arise.
Study STM32 ARM microcontrollers (arduino is just to indulge, nothing more than a hobby), it will not be easy to find a job, but it is possible and most likely with a move.
While studying at the university, I was also in love with embedded. After the university, he found a job without any problems, but we are talking about a million-plus city.
But the saddest thing here is that, after working for some time, I realized: you can’t go far on embeded. There is practically no outsourcing and freelancing, almost all vacancies come down to working for the defense industry.
I moved to the web, I do not regret it at all. But the "pieces of iron" remained as a wonderful hobby.
Knowledge, Experience, and most importantly Desire. You can make a lot of things at home on the same MK and earn money steadily on it.
