Where is the best place to connect a second monitor?
We have integrated Intel HD Graphics 2500 and discrete GeForce GTX650Ti. Decided to put a second monitor. Actually, the question is: in which video does it make sense to connect it? There is an opinion that if you connect it to the built-in video card, the discrete one will not be loaded by the second monitor, which will allow you to play comfortably and at the same time sit in the browser / working programs. Is there any sense in these manipulations or does the second monitor not really affect the performance of discrete video?

If you do not turn on surround, then everything should be fine from the discreet.
No effect on load was observed. Only a game can give a load if it is turned on on more than one monitor.
There are separate configurations in which the BIOS basically does not have either a multi monitor or the always enable parameter for integrated video, and the card itself is blocked when a discrete one is connected. This was done incl. for unambiguous video driver priority(!).
And at the moment when the focus is switched to another card, the driver is also switched. 15432 says everything right about laptops - there this problem is on the surface, on some models Win10 cannot recognize the current adapter and turns on both drivers and both adapters at once. Result: constant blinking of the picture with overlay and artifacts.
How quickly and how much does it affect the course of work if the function is supported ..? You will have to drive a specific configuration personally.
First, I suggest testing some 3D application on both monitors in turn (read: the same application on different adapters). Compare results (load, temperature, FPS .. whatever you can pull).
Next, you should run a multisession of one application on both monitors at once and also compare.
This will be an objective answer to your question. with actual numbers.
In general, all my life I have had two monitors (and sometimes three) connected through one adapter and have always been littered with a bunch of everything. Even the already dead HD5770 easily pulled a movie on one monitor and a game on the second.
