Where can I read about software sales models?

Surely, there are different models for selling software.
Now it seems that the best option, which most vendors are moving towards is:
- *aaS - you control the code and distribute it by rights
- I don't know what to call it - the approach used by Nginx, Redhat, Gitlab ... I.e. there is an open source version of the product + *aaS + paid technical support
But still, obviously, there is still a lot of proprietary software that is sold as ready-made solutions, supported only by the vendor, etc.
There are probably other options as well. And obviously different approaches suit different things - there is no silver bullet. Is there a good analysis of different methods somewhere? At least to decide - *aaS or support

Greetings. You know, an interesting question. Most likely there is no specific analytics for software sales models in general. It is necessary to consider each specific segment and choose from it the most common and gaining popularity methods. If you are specifically interested in any segment, you will have to delve into it.
By the way, if you still find any useful materials, throw off the links here, please!

I tend to the first variant more. I'll explain why. The software that you have sold offering support may be corrupted and live without your support. A striking example is some Microsoft products.
In the service version, you distribute paid access to your users. If they give it to someone else, that's their problem - you got paid. Support for the service is somewhat easier to implement.
