Where are UEFI entries saved?

Situation: when in the UEFI settings (such as BIOS) I go to the menu for changing boot priorities, a bunch of past settings are displayed that are no longer on the disk. How to remove or reset them? Tried a CMOS reset, didn't help.

Linux has the efibootmgr program.
On Windows, this is handled by bcdedit.
