When someone asks you about your salary in Europe or the US, do you say it is all taxes deducted or before deductions?
In some European countries and in the USA, an employee receives a salary in his hands, from which he himself must then pay income and other taxes. In other countries, the employer himself pays all taxes for the employee and gives him the amount already cleared of taxes.
Can it be argued that if an employee pays all taxes himself, then when asked “How much do you earn?” he will tell the full amount of the salary accrued to him? And if the employer pays taxes for him, will he name the amount already cleared of taxes?
I'm trying to figure out the statistics that Glassdoor collects. How to understand for individual cities: did the users indicate their salary before the deduction of all taxes or after the deduction?

People don't usually talk about salary. Those who speak, then call the maximum figure possible. So they say before taxes. And, if you ask about taxes, then there will be a clarification.
But personally, like my colleagues, I don’t tell anyone how much I earn, I just send it away
