already advised you, you need to look at the WP logs, PHP logs and server logs. Speaking of viewing WP logs - you need to enable wp debug mode via wp-config.php (read how to do it) Speaking of viewing PHP or server logs, you will find the necessary log files on your server. As for the possible reasons: - the problem is in the pdf file itself. Try uploading another pdf file. If loaded. then everything is ok. - the problem is in the large size of the pdf file. Accordingly, try to compress this pdf or upload a smaller pdf to eliminate the error
- the problem is that files are not loaded at all (and not just pdf). Here look towards chmod & chroot. Maybe the rights are different or the user is apache, wordpress is different, etc.
- do not forget to exclude conflicts with plugins. Disable all your plugins and try downloading again.
