When changing the cable from vga to hdmi, did the resolution change?
tv dexp
nvidia geforce gtx 750 video card
via vga cable, 1920x1080 fits perfectly on TV, but as I changed it to hdmi, the same resolution is displayed incorrectly (as if it doesn’t fit, it’s a little shifted, maybe by 0.5cm.). I thought if it didn’t fit, I checked the other resolution 1366x768 (which for some reason is recommended) and all the others, but they fit much less than the same 1920 1080. I
updated the video card driver.
maybe someone knows how to help)

Is the cable normal? on TV, in theory, there should be an auto-adjustment of the picture, if it means that the image is shifted to the right / left or top / bottom
Try centering on the TV itself. Autodetect. And in general - to connect HDMI with the equipment turned on is a so-so idea.
On TVs, by default, the "overscan" mode is enabled, with the picture cut off at the edges. Usually selected in the settings or a button on the remote control. This is fine.
TVs, especially cheap ones (this was the case 10 years ago - without exception), very clumsily provide information about their capabilities (a list of video modes and their parameters), moreover, it often happens that for vga and for hdmi the information is different, and the necessary video modes may be missing in principle (for example, dot to dot, suitable for the matrix) because of which these video modes have to be added manually (there are ways to edit this edid information directly on the monitor)
I also have an old monitor with a vga input at hand, which, when using even an ancient amd hd5830 video card through a dvi-vga adapter, correctly reports to the computer about its native resolution of 1600x900, but when connected to the motherboard (built-in video from amd) the desired resolution not detected, of course all the drivers are installed, including the monitor itself! (this is an inf file with a description of its parameters).
for linux, use the regular xrandr utility, for windows look, there were a lot of them, incl. nvidua control panel has a corresponding item
