What to read about task management and what systems can be used?

Tasks appear in a startup, I would like to control them so that reminders work normally. Ideally, of course, task management should be tied to business processes, as Bitrix24 does, but Bitrix24 has an inconvenient interface and business processes still cost $, besides, the box is very expensive. He himself does not understand that reminders need to be made, there is no presentation with a hierarchy of tasks, as in Megaplan, and instead of projects he has groups, which is also not entirely clear. Megaplan - the same story, the box is expensive, but there is at least some kind of export, you can save.
I clarify, the box is not critical, but I would like to be able to export.
There is also Asana (not studied yet) and Trello. As far as I know, the entire progressive world uses the latter, but I don’t understand how to organize work there, perhaps I need to smoke some literature on Kanban?
I feel this whole thing will end with Redmine, or OTRS.
