What to read about creating a home media center?

There is a mini computer with Wi-Fi, there is a grid, an Internet. I would like to make the system boot, for example, from a USB flash drive, where some kind of XBMC was launched, watch YouTube, read news on the Internet. Also, the provider distributes iptv, I would also like to pick it up.

You can use LinuxLive USB Creator ( www.linuxliveusb.com/) to make a bootable flash drive with the so-called "Persistence", which will make it possible to boot from it and save the changes you make. That is, take some kind of image, for example, xubuntu (it is lightweight and practically not demanding on resources), burn it to a USB flash drive using LiLi, boot from the USB flash drive and customize it for yourself (upgrade packages, download localization, install XBMC and browsers and whatever your heart desires). Well, there is also XBMCbuntu - a special distribution that immediately loads XBMC.
