Notebook (ubuntu and XMBC) + Macbook pro bundle, is it possible to use airplay?

Hello guys!
I have an old laptop on which Ubuntu is installed, I put XBMC there, I set everything up, I control it from my phone, everything is cool. I saw the Air Play item in the settings, but I didn’t understand how to set it up ..
There is also a macbook pro from which I would very much like to stream movies and music.
Actually the question is, is it real? And what is required for this?
Perhaps there are some analogues? even if it's paid, but the main thing is that it's cheaper than apple tv :)

@Akellacom

In short, I answer my own question!
As I understand it on ubuntu, avahi comes out of the box.
I launched it, so I started it with sudo avahi-daemon. I
launched xbmc, in the service section, turned on everything that was possible.
The first thing I tried was to transfer sound to another device in the sound settings of the macbook, there I saw xbmc, which I was unrealistically happy about, tried it, everything worked.
I decided to check itunes, he also detected xbmc and streamed sound.
Of the jambs, what is playing on xbmc is not updated and the broadcast time is just going on. For me, these are trifles, the main thing is that I can convey the sound.
I bought a program in the AppStore, it's called "Play On TV", fumbles vidos on smart TVs, as I understand it, but also detects xbmc which is online.
Hope this helps someone! :)
Because of what specifically it worked, I will now understand and supplement the answer.
I manage all this miracle through the phone, using the application. The sound stops when you press pause, but continues to play in iTunes, everything is fine with the video in this regard, both rewind and pause work.
It is better to use the beamer-app.com program, it is much more convenient ,)
