Gedit not saving documents?

The first time this happens, gedit does not save documents, not under sudo, not under the admin account, the button is simply not active, what could it be?

Is the file system where you want to save it mounted as read-only?

Watching what files you open. If in hamsters - should work fine. If in / etc or in another system folder, then it's better to run it through sudo, because system files are still protected from changes by non-root users.
