What to choose: 1c VS frontend?

I have a growing year, I will be 38, where should I work then, what should I do?

For the last 10 years, I have been working at a TP hosting company without overworking, the children have grown up, the opportunity has arisen to work closely. There is little experience in creating sites (usually on wordpress), i.e. I know html css and js a bit, but I'm just a little bit of a template rule, but I've never made it up according to the layout, I'm still far from the layout designer.
I have experience in franchising 1C, from there I got some knowledge and a certificate special in UT + a bunch of certificates prof. I liked working with 1s, I didn’t continue further, because. they paid very little there, in theory I was ready for this and continued to work at my old job, but for 6 months they didn’t raise my salary, I was tired of fighting on 2 fronts and quit.
Now I'm planning to get a job again in October, I'm doing 1C, I want to take a special. on the platform, it’s very difficult and I’m not sure if I made the right choice. Now, in a crisis, retail will be bent, and 1c is very dependent on it + everyone who has not yet mastered Internet sales will strive to go there with renewed vigor, as it seems to me. Maybe I need to continue to do layout, Bitrix, for example, to master, it is the same as wordpress, I have experience in integrating a self-written site with 1c (I just did it for myself).

Summarizing - to a person with average, let's be honest, abilities in the current situation, what would you advise? 1s or frontend?
Thanks in advance!

1C or layout? Definitely 1C - when working on freelance sites, income is much higher, and there is a little less competition.

1C hand will not rise to advise. Average ability is your personal setting, your brain has no limits. You can achieve anything if you just really want to and do everything possible for this.
If you know WP, then you can develop in this direction. There are a huge number of sites running on WP and a lot of freelance orders just on it. It's still quite easy to enter the QA field. I work at Sberbank and there are a lot of people your age and older working as testers and getting from 100k. Well, in general, you can also develop very cool in testing.

1C within the CIS is a money vein. Bitrix is not the same as WP. WP doesn't have that much unnecessary crap. And in general, IMHO, a developer should not devote his life to learning Bitrix in order to do well.
Frontend, as an independent area from engines (this is not entirely true), is a golden Jew at the world level. It requires knowledge of a lot of things, by the way, to have at least general ideas about the same Bitrix, WP, other engines, technologies, approaches and patterns in order to do well.
For a person with average abilities, I would recommend to look into your question in order to understand how incorrect it is, to understand the stack and soberly weigh your stubbornness ... stubbornness to choose one thing.
At the same time, as I pointed out, the front is not something separate from the specified technology stack.

1C. You don't need frontend. here, through one, mentors and seniors, although they have no idea how the engine works.

In 1C, you can also get pretty good money and there is always a demand for good 1Snikov even in small towns. At the moment, 1Snik himself, but I’m retraining for mobile development, it’s become boring and there is no special development, that is, the knowledge gained 6 years ago has practically not changed and has not lost its relevance, but in mobile development, for a year and a half, something has already changed decently (for me personally as a beginner) and constantly have to think about looking for answers and, in general, not sitting still

If the question is in the salary within the CIS - 1C. A good specialist with 5-6 years of development experience in 1C and in the ERP configuration for 2-3 years in Moscow can receive FROM 150k.
