What tablet to buy?

I know that the question has already been met here, and on the Internet. I was looking, honestly, but in some topics people have certain requirements, other topics were created a long time ago and are no longer relevant.

In general, I want to give myself a tablet. I don’t have any devices from apple, except ipod, but there is htc sensation. I don’t know if the tablet and phone somehow interact?

The question of price is not important, I just want a good tablet. To live and work for a long time without brakes. I will use it mainly for entertainment, reading books, watching movies occasionally, sometimes the Internet.

What would you suggest?

Under these criteria, Ipad is suitable - as a tablet for surfing the Internet, reading books and watching movies. DOES NOT slow down.
In addition, I use it as an ssh terminal while lying on the couch
. Oh yes, there are more toys there!

Asus Transformer :)
I took it in August, I'm happy. Most of all, the ability to connect a physical keyboard is pleasing, and then the tablet turns into a full-fledged netbook with Android on board. Charging holds up to 14 hours with me (together with the docking station). In standby mode (but with Wi-Fi turned on and everything that can be synchronized).
Considered HTC Flyer, Acer, iPad. Did not like. And I don't regret it :)

The current market, if we ignore non-popular models, is something like this:
Apple iPad 2
Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1
Acer Iconia Tab A500
ASUS Eee Pad Transformer
Apple iPad
HP TouchPad (amazon/ebay, webOS)
Kindle Fire (not yet)
I advise you to choose from these models.

As an option, I can offer an ipad 2 or an acer iconia or perhaps a galaxy tab (the one that is 10 ").
But it seems to me that it’s better to be more specific about the goals. And so the three tablets listed above cope with the tasks you set with a bang. Since I myself am The owner of a MacBook Pro then opted for an apple tablet + full of entertainment applications for it and it does not slow down ...

I asked myself the same question over the summer. I myself have an android phone, so I wanted an android tablet, I was looking at Motorola XOOM (it was then the only 10-inch one on Honeycomb). But in the end I decided to take the iPad 2 (although Apple didn’t like it before), especially since the money was about the same.
As a result, he practically stopped turning on the home computer at all, only in order to synchronize the iPad and throw new music there. All games - only on the tablet. For films - excellent, for 4 hours of watching a movie on an airplane, the battery runs out by 35-40 percent in total. Internet at home - also only through it (it is convenient to surf while lying on the couch). I have not yet tried reading books from him, but various magazines are excellent.
Yes, good software and games - usually for money (did not jailbreak). But the money is really small, plus there are often sales, and even free distribution. The quality and quantity of applications in the AppStore is much higher than in the Android Market.
In general, I bought a tablet for the sake of "playing around and seeing what it is", but in the end it became my main computer. The purchase justified itself by 200%.

I myself am now thinking and picking the Internet on this topic.
On the one hand, the iPad is good, and as the owner of Apple technology, I know approximately what I will get.
On the other hand, Android tablets are gaining momentum, they are cheaper.
Against the iPad, since you have to buy applications for absolutely ordinary tasks, there is little free software.
Against an android tablet, as the previous experience with android is negative. Maybe because of the eternal flashing, maybe just unlucky, but my old nexus works terribly.
I'll probably take an iPad.

As for me, everyone has their + and -.
Ipad2: "+" - stylish, powerful, convenient OS. The lack of applications is compensated by Jail.
"-" - it is impossible to expand the memory, there is no USB host. iTunes. No explorer
Acer Iconia Tab 501: "+" - HD display, Tegra is not inferior to A5, flexible OS with widgets, etc. There is a micro-SD slot, there is USB for flash drives.
"-" - Acer's reputation as a company that produces non-top devices (although their tablets are very good)
Asus Transformer - the same as Acer only with an additional keyboard (which also has a built-in battery) and an IPS matrix, but USB only on the keyboard.
Samsung is a good display, good stuffing. But it didn't inspire confidence in me. He's kind of a toy. And there is no micro-SD slot.

I changed my iPad for the first time for a BlackBerry Playbook, for half a year I can’t get enough of it, it turned out even cheaper 64 gig model, I listen to music, read books, watch movies (by the way, the battery keeps at the level of the iPad, I can easily watch 5-6 films on the road), I write notes and reviews on it, storing it in a dropbox, sometimes I use an ssh terminal, and surfing is normal over the network. In general, everything that is needed. I'm still waiting for the Android player to be completed, so in general it will be a fairy tale, I will also launch “foreign” applications.
