What's wrong with shadows in Unreal Engine 4?

I am a beginner and bought a course on UE4, but practically nothing was said about the shadow settings, and when I compile only the shadows, the shadows turn out to be of very poor quality, what should I do? Oh, and how to change the draw distance?
