What's the difference between 3770 and 8700?
Since 2012, the i7-3770 has been standing and it still pleases. Of course, vulnerabilities and all the heavier applications have cooled his ardor a little, but he is still good. Especially after overclocking to 4.1.
I would like to understand whether there is a difference between the current and the fastest processors today in ordinary applications? Literally, if you assemble a new computer with ddr4 maximum frequency and a new process.
So far, it seems that the main gain can be in the increased frequency of 8700, somewhere around 4.3-4.5 and 8 cores.

3770 vs 8700
4 cores vs 6 and 8 threads vs 12 respectively.
Base 3.40 GHz and 3.20 GHz, turbo 3.90 GHz and 4.60 GHz
Memory bandwidth 25.6 GB/s and 41.6 GB/s
The theoretical performance of the 8700 is higher, by eye, by 30%. .
Then it is necessary to compare with i9-7980XE
The difference there is absolutely wild.
8700k arrived with a full update of the RAM on 3600 and m2 970pro.
Outcome.
There is no urgent need to update. In case you need everything to fly, it's still worth it. In overclocking 8700k by 4.8, as mentioned above, 30 percent faster than 3770, in tests for all 50. In all applications, it is very much felt, the frequency decides.
