What plugin do you use to optimize images on your WordPress site?

Some time ago I used a plugin on many sites: Optimus - WordPress Image Optimizer , but lately I see less and less any effect from its use.
Of course, you can process graphics manually in a graphics editor - determining the most effective ratio: quality / size, but this is hellish work - especially when there are a lot of these very graphics on the site.
I don’t remember a single case when Google PageSpeed Insights kept silent about the graphics on the sites and would not give recommendations to optimize images.
Maybe someone found a solution? What plugins do you use and do you use them at all?

The one and only WP SMush. This is a free version that allows you to easily optimize images for approximately 500 to 600 articles.

I am using EWWW Image Optimization. But I prefer to optimize images locally with jpegoptim || jpegtran with custom settings. Google does not complain after jpegoptim) But if you use the paid version of EWWW Image Optimization, it compresses very well. I don’t like WP Smush - I didn’t see the difference between paid and free ... + if you turn it off, then the pictures remain unoptimized ...

I download and locally optimize via Gulp with my own settings. I tried various free plugins and did not notice much profit from their work
