What old inexpensive HBA controller (lsa 9200...9211 / 93хх) should I choose to support new large disks (14-18TB) from 5pcs?

hello , I
need to expand the file server to 40-50TB

, I see there are 18TB sata disks (as well as some sas),

please recommend an HBA controller for larger new disks.

does the disk need to support cluster 512, 512e, 4096 bytes per cluster?

number of disks - from 5-6 pcs in an array,
raid10
debian

because hba controller can sata/sas - is it worth considering disks with sas port?

ps: and do I need to assemble a new server with ecc memory for this (I don’t want zfs, I don’t have full confidence in it yet), what a stone, what a mother, how much memory ...

PS: garbage dump for designers who have a 1GB project - this is a small project
network

1Gb
Thank you

HBA controller for larger new drives

We recently took LSI 9200-16E for a specific data recovery task . For example, on eBay they cost quite a penny.
An alternative is the LSI 9200-8E, but with a minimal difference in price, why not take a four-port one?
But this is an external HBA adapter, we connected a pair of SuperMicro 837E16-RJBOD1 shelves . And they had SAS drives ST12000NM0027 (Seagate Exos X12 12 TB).
EMNIP, LSI has the easiest way to look at the letter in the model: E - external, I - internal. There are also model variations, for example, for the adapter above it is LSI 9201-16E .
It will also be useful for you to decide whether 6 Gbps will be enough for you or if you need a faster (and more expensive) controller.
Do I need to create a new server for this?

The same SuperMicro has models where "everything is inside", you can connect others to such a shelf, look at the specs on Russian / English sites.

If you are going to take disks of 14 TB each, they cost like an airplane, take any normal modern controllers, they are nothing against the background of the cost of disks
. - now everything supports them
. Well, in general, a lot of mothers have 6 ports on board, and why there is not very clear xba
.
