What modern books / articles to read on web design, application design, text layout on the site, etc.?

I have read several books from the A Book Apart series and I understand that they describe the basics that are still applied today, but I would like to read something modern, based on relatively recent experience in web and mobile design. Are there any books you could recommend to me?

I would recommend looking at cool website/app designs and analyzing why they are cool. This approach is always relevant and does not depend on fashion trends, but you need to be able to think with your head and take everything apart.
Well, books / articles on typography, the rules there are eternal.
