What laws does forced registration without confirmation violate?
Is any law being violated, and if so, which one?
3 different points are of interest:
1. when a user leaves an email in a form that is not related to registration, registration takes place, which is used later for mailings. The username is sent to the user. no checkboxes for familiarizing agreements, etc. no
2. after regular registration, instead of email confirmation, a letter arrives with a login and password
3. using email for promotional mailings without user approval
