What language do you need to know to create computer video games?

I study PHP, I dream of developing video games, I didn’t find any sensible answers on the Internet. Please answer - "What language do you need to know to create computer video games?"
Why do you need to know a particular language? They say C ++, then they say C. What should be the starting point for all this? Explain everything you can explain, tell, share. Thanks in advance!!!

you need to proceed from what kind of game you plan to do. what game size...
if you are planning to work as an indie or in a small team, Unity + C# is the way to go. or another engine, such as CryEngine, which became free a year ago.
if AAA class games in a large team, then C / C ++, but here the choice of language is no longer yours.

It all depends on the required functionality and target platforms.
You can just use the engine, the most popular cross-platform is fine.
If we take into account the same cross-platform, then from the PL only C ++
If only under Windows, then C # is also possible

Tough question. Minecraft is generally written in Java.
Whatever you like, write about it. On what fits, of course.

C++ and C#.
But it's not about the languages, it's about the ecosystem.
Knowing only the language, you will not achieve anything.

In addition to the above, it is worth noting that the prototype is usually written on everything that allows you to quickly see the result.

if it’s simple or indie, take unity (you need to know c#) or godot (it has a language similar to python and with js particles) well, also anril for blueprints. And if an employee of any triple hey studio, then c ++ (well, or become the guru of Anrilov's blueprints)
