What is the required level of English to work on foreign freelance exchanges?
Hello!
I have been working in the field of development for about 2 years, I started with the usual native JS and JQuery in the old company, as soon as there was a stagnation in development, I left for another company, now I am actively studying React and already more in-depth JS. Sobsno what is the question. Sometimes in the vastness of Runet there is little information on new technologies or simply by googling some component, there is no Russian documentation at all. So far, the plans for the current year are to grow to the middle and start slowly entering UpWork.
I wanted to know what level of English is generally required for the front in order to calmly read the docks and communicate with customers? Now I'm setting a goal and I would like to measure it somehow, and not in the spirit of 'I want to learn English'

You yourself answered your own question.
The level is needed to calmly read the documentation and at least communicate in writing with customers. Ideally, this is oral communication. With those who have non-native English, it's easier. With natives, this is already an ideal level.
Any A3, B1, C2 have little to do with work. You can have level A and freely read any docks and discuss any work, or you can have C and not understand anything in the documentation.
The best time to start chatting and reading is always now! If you guess when that finest hour will come - this is not a fact that will happen at all.
English may not be enough for some time after the start (months / years), but as you go deeper, read, communicate, you will get better and better at using it. Yes, it may not be easy, but you have to reach for difficulties)) I
'm telling you by my own example. Before starting freelancing, I had several certificates up to Advanced, but in fact they lay on the table and knowledge went into a liability. And everything has to start from the beginning.
For reading and communication on Upwork, quite an average level is enough IMHO. Over the years of working there, voice interviews, for example, I took only a few times. Chatting more and more)) But who has it like.
The main thing is to act and not be afraid, everything will come and everything will be! Get started today :)
to calmly and effectively communicate with customers - B1 + at least (to be at least on a level with Indians). To read the documentation - A2 (no one canceled the translator).
what level of English is required for the front in order to calmly read the docks
Hello, Google / Yandex translator is enough to communicate and read the documentation + Grammarly extension for chrome to correct grammar in correspondence. It’s been 5 years on Upwork already, but sometimes it’s too lazy to write kilometers of text, so I throw it into the translator, I read the documentation freely.
