On the Internet, I found the book Doscover Meteor in Russian. Very interested. I tried it, went through a few chapters, I really like it.
How relevant is this platform on the market now? What related technologies can be used with meteor? Is it even possible to specialize on this particular platform?

The book in Russian is outdated, because now Meteor has been translated to ES6 and there are some changes. So the book should be read in English.
You may get the feeling that Meteor itself is outdated, partly it is, but it is being updated, and you can safely use it in your applications.
IMHO, you need to abandon the meteor templates, and replace them with react/angular2/polymer.
If you are going to learn a meteor, then I advise you to immediately familiarize yourself with www.apollostack.com for the future, because it seems like future versions will be on it.
