What is the percentage of profit for a programmer in a company?

The company has 2 founders. Now I am writing a service for them, which in fact will be the main thing in the future work of the company. What is the optimal % of the share to ask, not taking into account the possible profit?

What 33% or even 10% are we talking about? Giving a tenth just because someone does their job? Excellent method of doing business, nothing to say. The owner of a growing business who gives an employee such a share of future profits does not believe in the success of this business. Well, or he is a complete idiot, but let's not be distracted by particulars.
If the co-founders of your company are not idiots, it makes no sense to ask for 10% or more - they will part with you exactly at the moment when the right moment comes, read - the profit will go. Up to this point, you can be promised at least 49%.
Getting a 10-20-30% share promise is flattering and cloudy, but it should make you think about the viability of such a company's projects.
At this stage of development, you can try to get an option from the owners.

And it's better to send these two founders away, and make the service yourself and get money from it. For non-critical, easy areas, you can hire someone to help you.

Two important factors should determine this number for you:
? If these are people who are not close to you, then you need to look at how much these people understand IT in general. If there is a sensible PM, then with an overestimated percentage you will be quickly kicked and a worthy replacement with less needs will quickly be found. If people are far from IT, then you can speculate on the importance of your knowledge, but I don’t advise you to ask too much.
If these people are your friends or at least good acquaintances, then it is quite possible to ask for an equivalent share, it is better not to run higher.
If you want to develop a project and rest on your laurels, then you should not rise above 10-15%. The higher the percentage, the sooner they want to kick you out of the project.
If you want to periodically carry out improvements at the suggestion of the founders, then 20% is quite a good figure.
If you want to take on a whole front of IT work, ranging from simple improvements to analytics and marketing programs, then boldly reach the figure of 33%
Above 33%, you are unlikely to be given, so it is better to stop the upper limit at this figure.
PS If you still cannot decide, then you can find out from the founders how loyal they are to you in this regard. For example, phrases like: "Nikolay (for example), what do you think, what part of the project is IT? A third? And what can be done there besides development? Analytics? And I'm also very interested in this and I would like to take responsibility for this part of the work! I have already begun to think about it, it would be nice to add metrics here and here ... "- naturally this is an exaggerated version. Start with a direct question about your share of participation, then smoothly deduce what you can take on. But do not go too far, the burden of broken promises is a heavy burden :)
Good luck to you.

I was offered conditions from 10 to 20 percent a couple of times, despite the fact that you are paid a little less for your work. It is beneficial for the customer that you be a shareholder - then he gets a reliable person who will be interested in the work of the project, and for only 10-20 percent of the skin of an unkilled bear. At the same time, all the technical part will be on it. Whatever you say, but without a permanent techie, everything runs the risk of dying before it starts.

It all depends on what kind of contribution you make or can / plan to bring to the project. If "write what they say, how they say, when they say" -> no more than 10%. If you plan to be a full-fledged co-founder and drag all the technical implementation with you, determine the course of the company's development in terms of IT, etc. - > a reasonable 33%, given that there will be three of you.

At a minimum, a contract and legal assistance. Depending on the contribution = either participation in the project, or copyright for software, etc.

Dont clear. The case description is missing data. You need to understand the mechanics of commercialization.
It’s one thing if what is programmed you need to run to sell, train customers to use it, negotiate with data-content-traffic providers, etc. ... And it’s another thing if a money printing machine is programmed, which you launched and it works and drips by itself orphan money...

How do you agree. It is possible and 10 it is possible and 90
Depends on how important your participation is.
And how others recognize it.
