Has it become difficult to find projects on iOS?
I have been developing native iOS applications for 5 years already, no ionic, xamarin, react native, etc. During this time, a bunch of simple applications were developed, there were also long-term projects.
There was a time when finding new customers, including long-term projects, was easy.
Now I observe a situation that it is rather difficult to find any worthwhile project at a rate of $20-30. Almost no one answers. No upwork, no other exchanges. It should be noted that on other sites everything is completely rotten. I send resume, portfolio, cover letter 5 times a day.
Interesting opinion, why so?
Here or:
1. I lost my grip, in terms of positioning myself as a developer.
2. Due to seasonality. Vacation time, etc.
3. React Native trend. It is worth noting that there is work on hybrid applications, including React Native (though not quite a hybrid)
4. The abundance of newly minted iOS developers who have collapsed rates.
Let's assume by default that I'm an advanced developer, 5 years after all.
UPD: After a while, I'll unsubscribe how things go.

As Vasily Nazarov wrote
Plausible.
Oddly enough, at the same time - but you need to raise, not lower the rate.
5 years, if you didn’t kick the bulldozer, you need to raise it.

Show your profile on upwork and everything will immediately become clear
There are a lot of holidays in Europe now, people are relaxing, where I myself am looking for work, I noticed that for several days there were no new projects at all, but closer to September, when everyone had a rest and gained new strength / ideas, an increase in contacts / responses to offers becomes noticeable. PS I don't work for Upwork.
I left after six years of iOS development. Actually because of react, swift, ubiquitous storyboards and other unbridled fun. Not only is the market full of cheap lemmings with JS products, but the remaining orders are more likely to "save-help" after these same lemmings or just Indians. Only now "save, help, but always on js/swift".
The last time I put some kind of application on my phone, in addition to standard messengers, was a web money authorization client. Therefore, the problem is that the applications themselves are not really needed now. All more or less specialized companies have had contractors for a long time.
