What is the best version of app purchases to install?

As you can see, the most working version is 2.1.1, but there is also 3.0.1, so I’m thinking if this version is enough or can upgrade to the latest one, won’t something fly off, will some useful goodies be added?

And by the way, messages like this keep popping up all the time.
