What is the best photo format for an online store?

In what format should I take a photo for the site? jpg and white background or png and transparent background?
Which is better in terms of SEO and speed? I'm leaning towards png as the design of the site may change in the future and I won't have a problem with the photo background as it's transparent.
in the source I have a raw photo, I instruct the designer to photoshop all the photos.

If this is a photo, then jpg weighs less → loads faster → more points for speed.
Everything.

I would choose PNG and a transparent background. Since you never know where images may be needed, if you look at the design point of view. And the installed background may not fit on any banner, for example, and from this it follows that the background will need to be removed - extra labor hours and costs. Well, don't forget to optimize your images with TinyPNG for example.

No difference. You already have a cropped background in your source files. You can always change the background.
Let the developers take care of the mechanisms of mass editing, import / export, etc.

You can make a PNG for the desktop version, since the screens are larger and the connection is often much better
. And for mobiles, make a JPG to save traffic and phone resources
