In what format should I take a photo for the site? jpg and white background or png and transparent background?
Which is better in terms of SEO and speed? I'm leaning towards png as the design of the site may change in the future and I won't have a problem with the photo background as it's transparent.
in the source I have a raw photo, I instruct the designer to photoshop all the photos.

I would choose PNG and a transparent background. Since you never know where images may be needed, if you look at the design point of view.
