What is the ARM microcontroller for the soldering iron stand (project with display, and adjustable from heater resistance)?
The project is as follows:
A compact soldering iron stand, with dynamic adjustment of the heater current and feedback by measuring the resistance of the ceramic heater.
It is assumed that the MK will, when connected to the network, measure the resistance of the heater (from 1850 to 2000 Ohms), compare it with the required value, set the gate of the power transistor to the desired value and switch the heater from the resistance measurement circuit to the power circuit with the necessary adjusted gate of the power transistor. After n-th time (3-5 seconds) the operation is repeated.
GPIO(Input/Output):
- (3+8 digital pins) two character seven segment display of unknown architecture (from Sharp MFP)
- (+1 digital pin) from 6 to 8 LEDs (equivalent to 1 character display)
- an encoder with a button (or 3 buttons)
- a couple of digital or analog inputs to control the circuit (preferably analog)
- a couple more digital outputs to control the switching of the heating element circuit (from measurement to power supply)
- Analog Input for the heating element (which we will pull for measuring resistance)
- output, analogue for controlling a current-limiting transistor
- Optional analogue input for an ampere meter (perhaps it will be possible to make a preliminary conclusion about the temperature of the tip from the current if a voltage stabilizer is used in the circuit).
AND TOGO:
- 14+ digital outputs
- 1+ analog outputs
- 4+ digital inputs
- 2+ analog inputs
Additionally, since the circuit will store the settings memory and I'm not good at programming and handling ROM, it would not hurt to have a sleep option to save information to RAM.
So far, only the frame is ready, and there is a NUCLEO-STM32F401 debug board , a bunch of spare parts and a digital home appliances workshop in the basement. (+ in the direction of AVR, the fact that I'm a handyman and making a board for STM32 is difficult and I have never done this.)
Of the programmers, there is only STlink v.2.1 (under STM32 from the NUCLEO-STM32F401 debug board )
Thanks in advance for the answer, and good advice. ( habrahabr.ru , vk.com )

I join Serozha : why is the power of STM32 here? Enough of any weak MK with enough legs.
Another thing is that the price of STM32 is approximately comparable to 8-bit MKs with the same number of legs. Well, take the STM32F030 in a suitable case.
PS It is better to use an external ADC, unless, of course, you want to block the amplifier yourself ...
