What is technically correct? Hyper-v 2012 R2 or Windows SRV 2012 R2 and inside Hyper-v 2012 R2?

1. At the physical Hyper-V 2012 R2 is deployed on the server and Windows SRV 2012 R2 Standard (AD DS roles) and other Windows XP \ 7 are installed inside
   
2. At the physical Windows SRV 2012 R2 Standard is deployed on the server and Windows SRV 2012 R2 Standard (AD DS roles) and Hyper-V 2012 R2 are installed inside which already have Windows XP \ 7
   

Which is technically correct?
in 1 case we have fewer layers ( hypervisor --> OS ) and the boss is gone when the hypervisor fails.
in case 2, we have more layers (Server OS --> hypervisor --> OS), but the initial setup is much simpler + 1st VM for a domain controller, and 2nd hypervisor where users' OS.

Put only a hypervisor on bare metal. Everything else is virtual. And this is not a minus, but a plus. In the case of "everything is lost," installing and configuring a new hypervisor is much easier than moving blood pressure.

Зависит от конкретной ситуации. Допустимы оба варианта.
Просто второй вариант не очень хорош когда у вас несколько виртуалок, распределение ресурсов не совсем корректное будет. Если у вас чисто SRV 2012 R2 стоит под виртуализацией - вообще без разницы.

в 1 случае у нас меньше прослоек ( гипервизор --> ОС ) и шеф всё пропало при сбое гипервизора.

А вот и не правда ваша!
Количество прослоек одинаково в обоих случаях.
В первом случае работает гипервизор, под ним запущен SRV2012, во втором случае точно так же запущен гипервизор, и под ним запущен SRV2012, только приоритеты немного по другому расставляются.
Но в любом случае они работают под гипервизором!
Что касается - "шеф все пропало" - почему? Банально поднимаете другой гипервизор, и включаете под ним свою виртуалку.
