Which way to connect servers to storage systems should I choose for a cluster?
Good afternoon. I plan to build a failover Hyper-v cluster based on two servers from HP (DL380e gen8 and DL380 gen9) and storage systems (IBM v3700). There was such a question. Will there be any advantage from the fiber channel between servers and storage systems in this configuration. Or, is it better to go the simpler and cheaper way and connect the storage via SAS 6g? Thank you.

If you do not plan to scale your cluster in the future or build a disaster-tolerant configuration based on storage systems, then fc will not give any special advantage, unless of course your applications run into 6G and you need 8G or 16g.
Also, you will not be able to forward LUNs over FC through Virtual FC.
