Do I need a SAS bucket to create a software RAID?
There was a need to move from hardware to software RAID. In hardware RAID, the configuration is standard - a hardware RAID controller, a SAS cage (board) that connects to the RAID controller, and SATA drives.
Question - when creating a software RAID array, do you need a SAS basket, or does it just need to be removed (unscrew the board)? Or should they only be connected to the SATA ports on the motherboard?
The SAS basket itself also has SATA connectors, to which the cable coming from the RAID controller is connected. They are marked by J3L* mask
